October Pastor’s Message

All creatures of Our God and King,
lift up your voice and with us sing.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam:
O praise him, O praise him
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

–William Henry Draper, based on a poem by Saint Francis of Assisi

On Sunday, October 11, we will have a Pet Blessing as part of our
outdoor worship service. A take-home blessing will be available for
animals that aren’t portable, would be stressed, or just can’t make it that day. During the service, families will bless their own pets to maintain social distancing.

We will also have our Virtual CROP Walk that day after worship. CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk events held in cities and towns across the United States, raising funds to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. Twenty five percent of the funds raised are returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts.

Instead of us all walking together as a church, families are encouraged to go for a walk, either in their own neighborhoods, or from the church, or wherever they want, and send a picture of themselves or a video to Pastor Joel, or post it to our church’s Facebook page.

You can register for our CROP Walk or make a donation by visiting our team page at Bethlehem Area Crop Hunger Walk.
