From the Pastor’s Pen – December 2017

Isiah 9:2 “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light: those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined.”
I came across this on my computer (Anonymous via email)

“Be on the alert for symptoms of inner Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to this virus and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.”

The word Advent means coming. It’s a season of waiting, reflecting, and preparing for the coming of Christ. It is a time to repent and believe. Soon we will be lighting the candles of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. Then on Christmas eve, we light the Christ candle to signify that the light of Christ has come into our world. But they are more than words on a candle, they are prayers for our broken world. So, let us all this Advent and Christmas season carry hope, peace, joy and love and the light of Christ in our hearts and live them out in our daily lives. May God grant you all a hope-filled Advent season and a blessed Merry Christmas.
